Level 2 EV charger installation
We install the charger you already bought. Most Level 2 installs start around $500 and can reach about $2,000 for a long run, copper, a Tesla unit, or a plug instead of a hardwired connection. If the panel has no room, a panel upgrade is its own line on the quote.
What to expect
-
You supply the charger
We generally do not sell the charger. We install the one you brought. For a plug-in unit, we can supply and install the receptacle.
-
The panel decides the job
A photo of the panel tells us the service size and whether there is room. Text or WhatsApp that photo to (647) 678-5879 and we can give you a ballpark.
-
100 amp panels need a usage check
If the panel is 100 amp, we may ask for 12 months of usage from Alectra, Toronto Hydro, or Hydro One before we add a charger. One heavy month can mean the upgrade comes first.
-
ESA paperwork when the job needs it
When the install needs an ESA notification, we arrange it and show you what is included before we start. It is written on the quote, not assumed on every visit.
Questions
Questions about EV charger installation
Do you sell the charger?
Usually no. We install the charger you bought. We can supply and install the plug for a plug-in charger when that is the setup.
What changes the price?
Run length, copper, a Tesla unit, and plug versus hardwired. Breakers alone can run about $50 to $150, which is a real share of a smaller install. A panel upgrade is extra.
What should I send before you visit?
A photo of the panel, where the car will park (attached garage, detached garage, or condo), and whether you already own the charger. On a 100 amp service, a power bill helps.
